Climate Change, Resilience, and Adaptation: Water-Soil-Vegetation System Perspectives

报告摘要: Resilience-driven evaluation, organization, and supervision of water resources embody multifaceted strategies vital for navigating uncertainties in climate and water availability. By integrating hydrological modeling, scenario assessments, and adaptive governance, these methodologies aim to comprehensively understand vulnerabilities, utilizing nature-centric solutions and innovative technologies to fortify water provision, diminish losses, and enrich ecosystem services. Collaborative stakeholder engagement, adaptive management, and cohesive frameworks are instrumental in harmonizing diverse water requirements, ensuring sustainable water governance amid fluctuating precipitation and escalating demands. This presentation will stimulate discussions on how to address climate resilience and adaptation in semiarid, coastal, and urban environments, as well as generic water resources planning.

王喜喜现任美国欧道明大学土木与环境工程系正教授,从事的研究包括:气候变化与人类活动对水资源的影响、气候变化条件下水植被耦合关系与平衡、流域水文、城市雨洪,以及海平面上升和极端水文共同作用下沿海地区地表地下水动态分析与预测。持有清华大学水文和水资源工程学士和硕士学位及美国爱荷华州立大学农业工程博士学位(辅修统计学)。注册专业工程师。发表了近百篇期刊论文,做过很多学术报告,撰写了很多技术报告,出版了一本教材和四本专注及很多书籍章节。
