Ms. Zhang Xin, Professor
Professor Zhang Xin was born in Dalian, Liaoning Province of China on May 30, 1956. She received the B.S. degree from Dalian University of Technology in 1982, and received training at Agricultural Science and Technology Educational Project the Bell Educational, Trust Foreign Language Center during 1988-1989.
She became a Professor in China Agricultural University in 2004. She has been Director of Department of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering since 2011 and was vice director from 2002 to 2010.
She is a committee member of Urban Rivers and Lakes, China Hydraulic Engineering Academy, members of Beijing Water resources, Capital Association of Women Professors, International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology (IACSIT). She is invited editor of Yangtze River (ISSN: 1001-4179), China, Reviewer of Journal of Hydraulic Engineering (ISSN: 0733-9429), ASCE, USA, and Transactions of Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering (ISSN: 1002-6819). She is as Specialist and consultant of hydraulic and hydropower engineering, Renewable Energy for Rural Economic Development (RERED), Project of the Government of Sri Lanka, Specialist of hydraulic engineering of South-South Cooperation (SSC), FAO.
Her research interests are mainly on engineering hydraulics, environmental hydraulics, landscape hydraulics, and the principle and practice of water-saving agriculture and water management. She lectured on Hydraulics, Hydraulic and Hydro Power Planning, Hydropower Structure, and Advances in Hydraulic and Hydro Power. He has published more than 50 papers and supervised 34 M.S. students in engineering hydraulics and water-saving agriculture and water management.
He received The 2nd Award of Science and Technology Progress by Chinese Ministry of Agriculture in 1995, Beijing Excellent Teacher in 2004, Outstanding Teacher of China Agricultural University in 2009, Baosteel Excellent Teacher in 2012，Beijing Outstanding Teacher in 2013.
