Yan Haijun

 Dr. Yan Haijun, Professor  

  Prof.Yan Haijun (born in May 1974 in Zhejiang Province, China) is a Professor in College of Water Resources & Civil Engineering at China Agricultural University (CAU). He is the director of the Division of General Research Project, Office of Research and Development, CAU, and the vice chief of Engineering Center of Ministry of Education for Agricultural Water-Saving and Water Resources.

  He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degree from China Agricultural University in 1996, 1999, and 2005. He participated in an international course on “Advanced irrigation system for intensive crop production” organized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MASHAV) and Ministry of Agriculture (CINADCO), State of Israel, from May to June in 2005. He conducted his post-doctoral research in Graduate School of Science and Technology at Niigata University, Japan, from October 2006 to March 2008. He served as the deputy secretary of Party Committee for College of Water Resources & Civil Engineering from 2008 to 2010. He started his teaching career at CAU since 1999 and became a Professor in January 2012.

  He is the member of Drainage and Irrigation Machinery Division of Chinese Society for Agricultural Machinery, the member of Subcommittee on Drainage and Irrigation equipment and systems of National Technical Committee on Agricultural Machinery of Standardization Administration of China, and the member of Technical Committee of Association of Irrigation and Drainage Enterprises, China.

  His research interests are mainly on the sprinkler and micro irrigation technology, development of water-saving irrigation equipment, and optimal design of water supply networks. He has published more than 70 papers and 4 books, and supervised 17 M.S. students and (currently 3 Ph.D. students and 7 M.S. students).
