Dr. Zuo Qing, born in Qianjiang City of Hubei Province in 1965, is a professor of China Agricultural University and Ph.D student advisor. Dr. Zuo is member of Professional Committee of both Agricultural Soil and Water Engineering of Chinese society of Agricultural Engineering and Soil Physics and Saline-alkali Soil of the Soil Science Society of China. In 2005, Dr. Zuo was selected in the New Century Excellent Talent Program of MOE.
Dr. Zuo’s research focuses on mechanisms and modeling of water flow and nutrient transport in soils. He has been a principal investigator or major participant of over 20 research projects and the funding sources include the ‘973 program’ , the Key Program of NSFC, the General Program of NSFC, Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation, Research Fund for the Doctoral Program of MOE, and Sino-Israel International Cooperation Project. Dr. Zuo’s work has been awarded once the first and once the second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award at provincial or ministry level. Dr. Zuo has published over 50 articles in international and domestic academic journals, such as Soil Science Society of America Journal, Plant and Soil, Soil Science, Journal of Hydrology, Agricultural Water Management, Journal of Hydraulic Engineering (in Chinese), Transactions of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering (in Chinese), Journal of Soil Science (in Chinese), of which 17 articles are SCI or EI indexed. Dr. Zuo edited or co-edited 5 books in the forms of monograph, textbook, collection, or translation.
